Other Search Systems

The Federal Archives offer other specialised databases in addition to their central applications. Some of the systems below are no longer updated.

ARGUS

ARGUS lets you run searches and view digitised copies of holdings and documents from the foundation Archives of the Political Parties and Mass Organisations of the GDR (SAPMO), from the GDR Department of the Federal Archives, and from the Archive of Stasi Documents (BStU-Archiv). If you would like to use archive material in the reading room at the Federal Archives, please request this via email or in the reading room in Berlin-Lichterfelde.

The data held by the Federal Archives in ARGUS is successively transferred to invenio. We therefore recommend running a parallel search in invenio, especially for SAPMO documents. Please note that reference codes indicated in ARGUS cannot be reserved or requested via invenio.
