Sankt Augustin-Hangelar

External window

The records office in Sankt Augustin-Hangelar was set up in 1971 to archive the ministerial papers of the supreme state authorities in Bonn. A predecessor institution had been operating since 1965 in Bad Godesberg.

The custom-built new facilities, on land belonging to the Federal Police, were extended in 1979 with a further stacking centre. The stacking centre capacity is 43,000 shelf metres.
