Nachdem der Midosa-Editor für XML-Standards MEX bei der 3. Europäischen Konferenz zu EAD, EAC und METS, 24.-26.4.2007 in Berlin auf einer CD verteilt wurde, steht jetzt die Version 2 mit vielen neuen Funktionen in mehreren Konfigurationen für typische Situationen bei der archivischen Erschließung zum Download bereit. Sie kombinieren die Daten im Format internationaler Fachstandards zu einer intergrierten HTML-Präsentation. 

• MEX-EF: für erweiterte Findbücher für Sachakten (EAD + METS)
• MEX-SF: für Standardfindbücher für Sachakten (EAD + METS)
• MEX-NF: für Findbücher zu Nachlässen (EAD + EAC + METS)
• MEX-PF: für Findbücher zu Personalakten (EAD + EAC + METS)
• MEX-G: für Beständeübersichten (EAD +EAC)

In die Konfigurationen ist der Editor für das Anzeigesystem für digitale Reproduktionen integriert. Sie sind für Windows und MAC sowie jeweils in deutsch und englisch verfügbar

Im Wiki-Bereich der Downloadseite stehen Erläuterungen auf englisch und deutsch sowie ein deutschsprachiges Handbuch bereit.  

Die Konfigurationen enthalten jeweils eine reduzierte Version von Eclipse mit dem Plug-In für MEX als eine Zip-Datei. Eclipse benötigt Java, deshalb sollte vor der Installation von MEX die Java VM 5.0 installiert sein. Weitere Informationen finden sich in den Hinweisen für die Installation im Handbuch. Die herunter geladene Datei kann in einen Ordner lokal entpackt werden und ist dann einsatzbereit. Zum Deinstallieren wird der Ordner gelöscht.

MEX - the Midosa editor for XML standards  

After the Midosa editor for XML standards MEX was distributed to the participants of the 3rd european conference on EAD, EAC and METS, April 24 to 26, 2007 in Berlin in a first version, the version 2 with many new functions can now be downloaded via sourceforge.net inseveral configurations for typical description work in archival services. MEX combines the data in the format of three international archival standards to an integrated presentation in HTML. 

• MEX-EF: for extended finding aids for case files (EAD + METS)
• MEX-SF: for standard finding aids for case files (EAD + METS)
• MEX-NF: for finding aids for collections of personal papers (EAD + EAC + METS)
• MEX-PF: for finding aids to personal files (EAD + EAC + METS)
• MEX-G: for holdings guides (EAD +EAC)

The editor for building the viewer for digital reproductions is integrated into the configurations. The software is available for Windows and MAC in German and in English.

Each configutation contains a reduced version of Eclipse with a plug in for MEX packed together in one file. In can be unpacked in a folder on the local storage. Be sure that Java VM 5.0 is installed before. For further information see the quickstart  guide in the wiki. For uninstalling delete the folder from the local storage.
