The Federal Archives

The federal government maintains a federal archive as an independent federal authority, which is subject to the administrative and technical supervision of the highest federal authority responsible for culture and media.

The Federal Archives is responsible for safeguarding the federal archives in the long term, making them available and exploiting them scientifically.
