Due to the enormous volume of documents held by the Federal Archives, our staff is unable to answer specific questions by phone. The best way to obtain a reliable answer from the appropriate expert is by sending a written enquiry to the Federal Archives.

Some basic questions, however, can be addressed by phone, especially if you are able to specify your subject of your interest (e.g. image or film). Contact information is listed below.

We have set up service teams at the Federal Archives to ensure that staff are always available to the public despite sick leave and holidays. Because we work in teams, we rarely list the name of a specific contact person. Instead we provide the telephone number and e-mail address of a service team.

If you would like to use the archives or participate in a guided tour, please go to the Locations section to find the appropriate contact.
